SuperPro VAG Trophy – Final Round
Snetterton – 30th October 2010

The 2010 SuperPro VAG Trophy Championship went down to the wire during the final round at Snetterton this weekend; with Mark Jenkins in his Inta sponsored MkV Golf Gti securing the title by a single point.

Morning qualifying on a slippery but drying circuit saw Dan Rose take pole in the Seat Leon Cupra R, with a time of 1:26.005. Joe Fulbrook in the 1.8l Bora qualified second; with Jenkins 3rd; and Aaron Mason, also in a MkV Golf GTi, completing the second row.

The weather turned sunny in time for the race, and after familiarising himself with the circuit during qualifying Jenkins made a brilliant start; as did Fulbrook, with both cars passing Dan Rose by the second corner. By the second lap Mason had also made it past Rose and the top 3 quickly began pulling away from the rest of the field, with Jenkins and Fulbrook trading fastest lap times in the 1 minute 21's. The top 3 stayed this way for the remainder of the race, eventually finishing over 30 seconds ahead of 4th position Dan Rose. Jenkins' 2nd place saw him gain enough points to clinch the Class B Championship, and become joint overall champion with Class C's Oli Danker. However; after the race Jenkins was informed that having more fastest laps throughout the season entitled him to 1 extra point, therefore crowning him the 2010 overall SuperPro VAG Trophy champion.
